We are an independent, evangelical, church consisting of ordinary people from diverse backgrounds who profess faith in the gospel of Jesus Christ which offers forgiveness through His death on the Cross and new life through His resurrection; expressing that in believer’s baptism and a commitment to Christian Fellowship and witness based on the teaching of the Bible in its entirety.

Our activities reflect that commitment through regular gatherings for worship, prayer and Bible Study; outreach activities such as #One2Seven children’s meetings, Youth Challenge, and other endeavours; fellowship opportunities such as the Ladies Meetings; and community involvement such as the Mother and Toddlers’ Group; and commitment to the church and its mission.

Allander Evangelical Church traces its roots back to 1885 when a small group of Christians started to meet in Bearsden. The congregation subsequently moved from Bearsden to Milngavie and to the current location in 1925. The current building was built in 1970 with large-scale extensions in 1979 and 1988.

To comply with requirements to be recognised as a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO), the church was legally re constituted as Allander Evangelical Church with the same Basis of Faith which continues and maintains the core doctrinal basis and evangelical emphasis.

There is much going on at Allander Evangelical Church, both on Sundays and during the week. Take a look around the site to find out more about the different ministries and activities that we are involved in. We have activities for children, teenagers, families and the older generation. We welcome those looking to explore Christianity, and those wanting to grow in their faith in Christ. Please come along or get in touch, we’d love to get to know you.

The church is overseen by a Group of Elders, one of whom – John Macleod – is our Pastor.
