EAST DUNBARTONSHIRE - DOORS OPEN DAY
On 12 September 2009 Allander Church was open to the public from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm as part of East Dunbartonshire’s Doors Open Day. Other buildings in Milngavie such as the local Churches, the Town Hall (where a Family History Fair will take place), Corbie Ha’ and the Lillie Art Gallery were also open. During the day people were shown around the Church and information re the different activities which take place in the Church were described. Everyone who attended enjoyed the free tea/coffee, biscuits and cake which were available.

25TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
Friendship House was opened by the Rev John Paterson, St Paul’s Church on 23 June 1984 and has for the past 25 years served the community in Milngavie. To mark this special occasion Milngavie Churches Friendship House Association arranged a twenty fifth Anniversary Celebration on Friday 18 September 2009 in Allander Evangelical Church, Milngavie. A warm welcome was given to everyone who had served as a volunteer in Friendship House at any time during the past 25 years. Approximately 110 persons attended. The Celebration started at 7.00 pm, gathering for an act of worship led by Rev Ramsay Shields followed by a finger buffet supper and a time of fellowship. An anniversary cake was cut by Janet Charles who was a founder member of the House. Janet was also thanked for her 25 years of faithful service in purchasing and organising the cards.
