Leadership
The Church is governed by an Elders Group which presently number 5 senior Church members. They are responsible for all spiritual aspects of the Church, for its teaching and practice and for proactive pastoring of the members of the Church.
The Elders Group is supported by a Diaconate of 7 Deacons which deals with the practical organisation of the Church and a Speakers Committee who develop the teaching programme.
The Elders Group is also supported by a reactive Pastoral Group which is responsible for meeting the practical needs of those who are ill or have specific needs.
The Church has 6 Trustees who are long standing members of the church and who ensure that all the activities of the Church remain within the conditions set out in the Church’s Deed of Trust and to the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCAR) for ensuring that the Church complies with the aims and objectives of the Church’s charitable status.
Child Protection
The Church recognises that it has a responsibility to ensure that all children and young people taking part in activities organised by the Church are kept safe from harm. The Church has therefore endorsed a Child Protection Policy which meets all the requirements of The Children (Scotland) Act 1995 along with Government guidelines ‘Safe from harm’ 1993 and ‘Working together to safeguard children’ 1999.
